Pedro Santa Cecilia García (born 10 March 1984), known simply as Pedro, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a right midfielder.
==Football career==
Born in Gijón, Asturias, Pedro made his professional debut with hometown's Sporting de Gijón on 12 February 2006, in a 0–0 away draw against Recreativo de Huelva. He went on to become an important midfield element in the subsequent seasons, playing 37 games in 2007–08 as Sporting returned to La Liga after a ten-year hiatus.
Pedro first appeared in the top level on 31 August 2008, 11 minutes in a 1–2 home loss to Getafe CF.〔(Sporting Gijon 1–2 Getafe ); ESPN Soccernet, 31 August 2008〕 During the campaign he was featured in 17 matches, almost always as a substitute, and played almost no part in 2009–10 as the side again managed to maintain its top division status, being released in June 2010.
On 6 September 2010 Pedro signed a one-year contract with Albacete Balompié in the second division,〔(Pedro se une al proyecto del Alba (Pedro joins Alba project) ); Albacete's official website, 6 September 2010 〕 being released only three 1/2 months after.〔(Pedro Santa Cecilia: «Imagino las razones de mi salida, pero no me lo esperaba» (Pedro Santa Cecilia: «I think i know the reasons for my departure, but i did not expect this») ); La Verdad, 29 December 2010 〕 In August of the following year he moved abroad and penned a one-year deal (with the option for a further season) with R. Charleroi SC, in the Belgian Second Division.〔(Pedro: «El Charleroi es un buen escaparate en Europa» (Pedro: «Charleroi is a good place in Europe to showcase your skills») ); La Nueva España, 5 August 2011 〕
On 11 October 2012, after rescinding his contract with the club and having appeared in only one Pro League game, Pedro signed for Auckland City FC in New Zealand, joining several compatriots including manager Ramon Tribulietx.〔(Pedro ficha por el Auckland de Nueva Zelanda (Pedro signs for New Zealand's Auckland) ); La Nueva España, 11 October 2012 〕
